A Husband For Killer Mom

Chapter 208 - 208 Ch. 208 She Could Only See Darkness

‘I’m truly sorry about this. But, I’m afraid, it would be impossible for you to conceive again.’

Anxia barely believed the words. She almost thought she was dreaming, so her brain rejected the fact.

‘It appeared something like a scar was embedded in your ovaries, so... you might never be able to get pregnant again.’

How could it be? Anxia helplessly asked the same thing countless in her mind. She hasn’t done anything that could put her life in danger since Lori was born, and Anxia would never be seriously injured and leave her daughter an orphan.

Anxia was confident that in the five years since Lori’s birth, she had not had a gunshot wound or knife wound to her stomach. She couldn’t understand—she couldn’t accept that her ovaries had been damaged.

Anxia’s heart screamed in pain, and it felt like she was crying blood, but her tears couldn’t come out. For some reason, her entire vision became dark, and there was no light whatsoever. The only thing that kept her sane was the cold feeling on her ass and her back against the bathroom wall.

Anxia remembered how enthusiastic Richard was in wanting to be a husband and looking forward to the birth of their child. She also remembered how impatient her daughter was to have a little brother. Anxia also remembered how much she wanted to experience another pregnancy because she wanted to make amends when she was pregnant with Lori.

She would make sure this time she would properly look after her future baby—she would look after the health of her fetus with the utmost care and seek a name with her husband and daughter.

.....

She and Richard had even started thinking about a room design and were both expecting a boy. Richard said he wanted their son to be similar to Anxia, while Anxia often grumbled that she wanted her son to be as handsome as Richard.

After all, if a boy had a face similar to Anxia, ??wouldn’t people think their son was feminine? Alas, their bickering about their baby boy was useless if she couldn’t get pregnant.

‘Is it... really impossible? Do I have no chance?’ Anxia recalled her hoarse voice when she asked the female doctor.

‘Miracle did exist, and it might fall upon you. In the meantime, I will give you supplements to strengthen your uterus.’

Vitamin? Supplement? If she drinks all that and follows all the doctor’s recommendations, can she get pregnant again? What if it failed? Wouldn’t her hopes be shattered to pieces?

As carefree as she was, Anxia genuinely wanted to conceive once again. She did yearn to have another baby with Richard—perhaps, her longing was much more significant than that of her husband. And yet...

Is this a punishment for her? Is it karma?

She used to try hard to abort Lori by any means—when she wanted to have a child, she didn’t have a chance. If it was her punishment, until when did she have to endure it?

Furthermore, she didn’t know how to explain this to her husband and daughter. Both of them never hid their excitement whenever they spoke about a second baby. Richard and Lori wanted a baby boy and kept pestering Anxia about it.

Would the two of them stare in disappointment at her? Was Richard going to mock her and throw her away?

Anxia’s heart sank even more at the thought of this last possibility. If the two of them threw it away, where should she go?

She already had nowhere to go but to be by her husband’s side, and Anxia had no one but Richard and Lori.

What should she do if the two people she loves the most were even hostile to her? Anxia didn’t even dare to imagine it.

She knew she shouldn’t doubt her bond with Richard and Lori. She knew they would never abandon her, but the overwhelming darkness blinded her heart, and she couldn’t think straight.

“Xia Xia, are you here?” Anxia faintly heard her husband’s voice from behind the bathroom door.

Richard did call her very slowly, but with Anxia’s sharp hearing coupled with the quiet atmosphere of the room, Anxia could still hear her husband’s voice. Unfortunately, even though her hearing was functioning properly, her eyesight still couldn’t see anything.

The entire surroundings were extremely dark to her, as if there was no light. The bathroom light hadn’t been turned on yet, but with Anxia’s abilities, she should still be able to see nearby objects. But at this time, Anxia couldn’t see it. She felt she was in an empty room with only darkness and her—no people, objects, or warmth.

Anxia felt alone in that darkness, and only coldness accompanied her.

“Xia Xia?”

Anxia still didn’t respond when she heard her husband’s call, which was now being said a little louder. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to respond to her husband, but Anxia felt that all her muscles had gone numb and her brain was no longer in control of her body.

Not long after… her pair of eyes, which could only see darkness, was suddenly engulfed in an unbelievably dazzling light.

“Xia Xia,”

Anxia managed to close her eyes to avoid the glare of light that came so suddenly, and when she heard her name called softly, Anxia raised her face to look into her husband’s pair of brown eyes.

Her husband’s face looked tired, but the man was still clearly very worried about her. The brown eyes that usually looked mischievous and firm and showed all a man’s strengths turned into one word… anxious.

Richard was worried about her and still looked at her lovingly as before.

Instantly, her vision became blurry as tears filled her eyes and her sobs began to break out, shocking her husband half to death.

Why in the world does an unbreakable, strong woman like Anxia wail like this?
